I’ve only ventured up to Fennes a couple of times due to travelling times, but each time I’ve felt it well worth the visit.
Fennes shooting ground in the north Essex countryside has a large selection of stands and shooting areas, offering from 2 bird to multiple bird combinations, (see video below) for one example. The 120 ft high tower is set to send birds to multiple stands around the ground, some in bounded stands and some in conventional stands. The driven birds on high rotating traps are fun to shoot, the real tester is stand 1 high tower bird coming from the right…
There’s plenty of less challenging targets for novices and scorecard boosters, just take your pick.
There is a promatic card system to count the clays released.
The clubhouse serves food and drinks and there’s a nice seated patio area overlooking the ground.
Permanent toilet facilities are on site.
Nice big carpark on stone base. Disabled access too which is good to see.
There’s usually a one hour shooting silence during the day for wedding ceremonies in the nearby registry office, confirm with the ground beforehand for times.
