Horne C.P.C.

Gatton Bottom and Court Farm.

Gatton Bottom, Markedge Lane, Mershtham Reigate, RH1 3AW

Court Farm,  Church Lane, Chalden,Surrey CR3 5AL

Horne C.P.C has 2 grounds for Sunday shoots, check their website to see what’s on and where. These are CPSA registered competition shoots, of course you can shoot birds only for a reduced fee. There’s also a members competition if you subscribe to the club membership. Prize money for first and second in all classes. The shoot is usually set over 12 stands giving a great variety of targets, on report, pairs and simutanious pairs, with 2 elevated stands at Gatton Bottom.

For me, this is a great shoot to work on consistency, my scorecards all come in between the low 70’s to the  highest at 84 so far. All the targets are certainly hittable, but straight stands are often marred by one or two that get away, and thats the difference between my B class and a double A.

Entries are from 10.00 till 3.00 so stand queues are not usually too bad, its a lovely walk through some woodland at Gatton, and Court Farm is on a large sloping field with some targets over trees.

Parking can get a bit muddy in the winter especially  at Gatton.

Nice burger van for tea and snacks and portaloo facilities at each site.

They sell a good selection of Cartridges at very reasonable prices too, and have card payment if preferred.

Well worth a visit if you haven’t been, and worth considering shooting at Keston first then Court Farm as they’re not too far apart.
