Skidhill Lane, Chelsham, Surrey CR6 9PP
The Keston shoot meets once a month, usually on the first or second Sunday, check the website to confirm details. You can shoot in the classed competition or birds only. There are good prizes to be won in each class for first and second.
Targets are set so that everyone can get a reasonable score, but there’s alway a few that’ll get away, even the top shooters miss a few here and there, big George and co’s scorecards are never 100%.
Wintertime shoots can be tricky when the sun is shining, with a couple of stands facing a low sun.
Have a go on the pool shoot to warm up if you feel like a practice first.
There’s a food stall selling the usual shoot fayre, and limited toilet facilities.
Wintertime can be a bit muddy in the carpark, park with care or get stuck!
The staff here are lovely, the trappers are a friendly bunch, and the lady on stand 5 sells really tasty jam and pickles for charity.
Keston is a real gem of a club shoot, worth the effort to visit and not far from the Horne shoots which also run on Sundays.
Colts (under 16) shoot for free with an accompanying adult too.
