JJ’s clay shoot, established in 1986 set in Darenth Woods near Dartford. Very well established club, popular with club shooters and also suitable for beginners and improvers.
Usually set out over 7 shooting positions, rather than fixed stands.
Practice is Wednesday Friday and Saturday.
Occasionally there’s a 10 stand shoot on the Sunday competition day, otherwise its normally an 84 bird 12 per stand shoot.
Sometimes comp day is a Sim Pair day just to up the anti a bit.
Really friendly atmosphere here amongst the shooters and staff.
Lessons are always popular along with corporate groups, which use their own shooting positions.
The targets are all reasonably set to kill, occasionally there’s a few tricky options. You can always shoot pairs if you feel a need for more of a challenge. Check out the videos on this page for an idea of what you’ll get. As the ground is quite small you won’t find many long crossers or distant birds.
The ground has Promatic card machines, so you can even shoot on your own with the delay feature. Traps are well maintained here, with very few no birds.
There’s an on site food / snacks / tea wagon and the toilets are always clean and tidy. Pricing at the lower end of the spectrum, gives good value for money.
If I do a round here on say a Friday morning it’ll take an hour or so to get round, Sundays can be a whole lot busier, its a popular ground for the competition shoot, with prizes for all classes which include cartridges, free entries and trophies.
